Filming at Universal

Here are some images of the start of the filming of a western film at Universal Studios. These shots were taken from the glamour tram. I like the behind the scenes feel as well as the interaction with the stars. I also really like the big black Cadillac and the camera crane and boom. These are some more slides from the last time I posted Universal Studios in December of 2006.

Wow, these are some of the coolest Universal Studios images I've seen. You're right, the "behind the scenes" aspect makes them great. I don't recognise the lady in the second slide or the gentleman in the fourth, do you know who those folks are?

There's a "Laramie" production placard on the car's dashboard in the 2nd photo, so maybe these shots are of "Rails Into Laramie" (1954) aka "Fort Laramie" and "Rails End at Laramie" in production (it was a Universal Film). The Internet Movie Database lists several late 40's-50's western films with "Laramie" as part of the title.

Yep, I noticed the placard as well. The gentleman tipping his hat to us could be Stuart Randall (as Sheriff Mort Corey.)

More likely "Laramie" the television show shot on the Universal (Revue) lot 1959-1963 and aired on NBC.

Anonymous, Yes you are right. I missed the other clue: "Revue" on the side of the camera crane. Thanks!
