Northwest Fur Trapper Ride Freedomland

Today's images are from the Northwest Fur Trapper Ride set in the location that would be Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and more. I am not sure how the ride flowed or what the scene set up was. I do know the ride was like going around the Rivers of America in a Keel Boat. The first image is of the ride vehicle, a flat bottom boat. Some amazing Disneyland like images in this group. I have posted a close up of the sign in front of the cabin which reads Pelts peddled here.

Those are great! But wasn't the layout for this ride more like the twisting waterways of the Jungle Cruise, rather than a loop like the Rivers of America? Thanks for these!

  3. The pics are back up!

Wow - what a great ride this must have been! I've always been intigued by this one. Imagine how much better it would have gotten over the years as the foliage grew up around it (assuming the park would have maintained it).

I love the lighting for the hanging skeleton scene hidden behind what looks like a discarded washboard or old piece of wood...

  4. YES, the photos are back up!! These are awesome. It is amazing to see how much like Disneyland this park was, except that there was something lacking in the details. Maybe it's just that the park never had time to develop and improve...

Pate the following link into your browser for a Video Visit to Freedomland

This particular video was created for younger viewers and aired on various children shows, such as Sonny Fox's Wonderama. To get a better idea of the true scope of Freedomland, one should take a trip to the Museum of Television in Manhattan and view the Ed Sullivan episode that premiered Freedomland’s grand opening.
