1939 New York World's Fair at Night
A lovely nice view of the Glass Pavilion sponsored by Owens-Corning, Owens-Illinois, and Pittsburgh Glass company. The pavilion featured a large glass furnace, fiberglass manufacturing and a bottling plant. The pavilion looks great illuminated.

Kodak at the NYWF 1939
A lovely view of the photographic images on display advertising the Kodak Pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair. Kodak had a similar pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair. Kodak was also part of Disneyland on Main Street.

Golden Sprays by Leo Lentilli 1939 New York World's Fair
Located in the Court of Academy of Sport in the Food Zone, the sculpture features two All American girls surrounded by sprays of goldenrod. The NYWF was filled with great sculpture. I wonder what happened to the statues?

Ford Exhibit 1939 NYWF
A striking view from the exterior of the Ford Pavilion taken at night during the 1939 New York World's Fair. The statue of Mercury by Robert Foster looks kind of demonic with the lit eyes.

Souvenir Friday- Febraury 1966 Univeristy of Disneyland Newsletter
The next issue of the small employee publication from the University of Disneyland. The big news was the Walt Disney Productions annual report. I like the spin on Disneyland's contribution to the bottom line.

A Couple Views Of The Reflecting Pool And Trylon And Perisphere
Two nice views of the reflecting pool and statues in front of the Trylon and Perisphere. The first image shows the statues and pool. I am amused that from this views many of the statues are looking up towards the Trylon and Perisphere.
The second image is a closer look at the Perisphere. From this point of view, the statues look like they are surfing.

Speed by Joseph Reiner New York World's Fair 1939
An allegorical statue showing the speed of communication is Speed by Joseph Reiner. Placed in the Court of Communications the statue features a speeding horse with wings ridden by a muscular rider. The decoration on the building in the background looks like the Cowan Pottery Jazz Bowl.

1939 New York World's Fair Europa Statue
A very Art Deco statue is Europa by Gleb W. Derujinsky. The statue was found in front of the railroad building. Europa is the mother of King Minos of Crete and is seduced by Zeus. Zeus assumes the shape of a white bull and Europa climbs on the back of the bull which runs into the surf and to an island and reveals himself as Zeus.

1939 New York World's Fair At Night
Two small snapshots of the 1939 New York World's Fair. First is the reflecting pool with the statue of George Washington in front of the Trylon and Perisphere lit up with some great lighting. Of course these were the main symbols for the fair.
The second image is of the Lifesaver parachute drop at night with a couple of the parachutes being dropped with happy visitors riding.

Columbia at Fowler's Harbor Sign
The Columbia Sign at Fowler's Harbor has a nice design. The location was the dry dock used to maintain both the Columbia and the Mark Twain. In this image, the Mark Twain is sitting at the dock. This dock was used for the Below Decks when the Columbia was not sailing. In this case, the attraction is closed.

Second Photo of Goofy At Coke Corner
The second image of Goofy hanging out at Coke Corner from the LAPD day at Disneyland in the late 1960s. Goofy seems rather interested in the piano player. I think I like the piano being inside the restaurant rather than outside as it is now.

Riding The Rails Nature Wonderland Railroad
A nice view from one of the railroad cars on Nature's Wonderland. Everybody wave to the happy guests on the Mike Fink Keelboat as they pass by us. The engineer sure looks like a salty character...I like the way he wears his hat.

Wrangling Balloons
A tough job on a windy day is wrangling balloons in Disneyland. Some nice details in this image with the lovely plaid pants and the chic outfit on the right hand side. The two young guests are drinking out of the classic 1970s drink cups.
