Hills Bros Coffee Garden Sign at Night
When Starbucks opened in Disneyland, many fans were very vocal in their complaints of commercialism, sell out and Walt would have never put Starbucks in his park. Yet, there had been a coffee shop for many years in Disneyland. Hills Brothers was one of the largest and best known coffee manufacturers in the 1900s until today. The brand sponsored a lovely coffee garden where adults could get their morning, noon or evening cup of joe. This great night time image features the taster which was created 1906 and pays homage to the Ethiopian origin of the coffee.

Very neat, I like the little red coffee drinker.
More Main Street night time photography. I love it!
I think it would've been great if they put the Starbucks in this location carrying on with the tradition of it being a "coffee garden" location instead of converting the Market House. Just my two cents!
Awesome shot of Hills Bros. at night. Vintage and in-focus night shots of Main Street are rare, close-up signage shots even more so!
Well said, Ken.
I agree with Ken about how this location would have been better for Starbucks. But it wouldn't even be that bad in the Market House if they had just kept the original interior, instead of gutting it and making it look like something out of a shopping mall.
I have an old Maxwell House can from this era (Dad kept it full of nails on his workbench).
The little taster guy is wearing a desert robe and a turban.
Bet that image wouldn't fly in today's market.
