My favorite two images from the assignment. First off is a close in photograph of the reloading of the Jungle Cruise Hippo gun. I love the detail and the focus in the image.
Next is my favorite, a close in view of the Alice In Wonderland control panel. I have always wanted to find one of the control panels in a pile of junk at a swap meet.
Wow, I love these 2 shots. Always the kind of stuff I tried to watch when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteThe closeup of the control panel is interesting... the middle light (not a button?) says "Hill Flasher", what the heck can that mean? And buttons for "Main Track" and "Side Track"... what would the buttons activate?
ReplyDeleteThese are fun! Thanks, Patrick.
ReplyDeleteMajor: I really with somebody with experience with this would chime in, but I suspect the buttons under "Main Track" controlled the flow of cars thru the ride itself, while the "Side Track" was probably to control the service spur-loop. (This was originally at ground level where the exploding cake scene is... back in the day it was a kind of garage where cars could be taken off the main line and cleaned.)
ReplyDeleteAs for "hill flasher" It may be a sensor that reports that cars have stopped moving at the high point in the track.
Love these photos. Keep them coming forever.
ReplyDeleteThe tag that's just lying on top of the control board reads "US Patent Nos:"
