Souvenir Friday- Sleeping Beauty Castle Matchbox

One of my favorite items of merchandise is this Miniature View of the Sleeping Beauty Castle in a fake matchbox. The front graphics featuring the Mark Twain and Columbia echo the matchboxes of the early 1900s. The scene on the inside is hand painted and charming. Based upon the Columbia, I believe this dates from 1958.

Such a great idea, it's too bad that there were all kinds of matchbook dioramas created... just think of the possiblilites!

What is it about the Columbia that dates it at 1958?

Kurtisaurus- since the Columbia is featured and that was one of the new rides in 1958, it makes sense that the merchandise created that year features it. This could be later, but definitely not earlier.

Hi there!
Great job on the site, I really like it. I was trying to find your email address but couldn't, so I'm trying to contact you the comment section.
I don't know if you have an affiliate section on your site, but I have recently started a blog (http://disneylandstory.blogspot.com/) and I'm looking for affiliates. This blog is co-owned by me and a friend and we are writing a fun story about Disneyland and we wanted to publish it to a website. I hope you check out the site and email me at DisneylandStoryWriters@gmail.com, to let me know if you'd like to consider being affiliates with us.
Thanks,
Kari
