Souvenir Friday- Fashion Show at the 1972 and 1973 Grad Nite
My brother found these two photographs from the same guy. The guy was lucky enough to go to two consecutive Grad Nites, with two different girlfriends. He was also quite the fashion maven, in 1972 wearing a nice corduroy belted jacket and in 1973 wearing a formal flour sack that was given out by the US AID organization to developing countries.

That guy is just too suave for words! Those outfits would fetch a pretty penny at a vintage clothing store today.
It's a tough choice, but I think I'll have to go with Bachelorette #1.
That is one of the wackiest jackets I've ever seen. I wonder if his date was secretly horrified? His hair style is just like mine was!!
I'll take "Bachelorette #1" also, it is a tough choice though...
Jacket #2, OMG, is that made from old flour sacks? I had a similar jacket what was all NFL logo's, but this one takes the cake!
P.s. Matternhorn1959; can I borrow these images for my blog? I'm doing a Grad Nite blowout in June and these fit right in!
Oh, this is scary. I wore a corduroy jacket just like that when I went to Grad Nite in 1972. My hair looked like that too. But that's not me--I skipped my Grad Nite in 73.
Holy cow! And they let him in the park?
It was kind of nice back then when people felt a little freer to be wacky and not so worried about conformity (or good taste, for that matter).

My first suit was a green 3-piece courduroy number from 1978.
How I wish I had kept it!
I attended Grad Nite 72 with my future husband. Our photos were taken in the same place and we were wearing just about the same clothes, with the exception of the "interesting jacket" on the guy. I remember we were given a flyer which had the rules for clothing worn to Grad Nite. Ladies could wear pantsuits but not separates, the top and bottoms had to match and the jacket had to come down below the hips. Guys had to wear jackets and ties.
