1970s Fashion at Disneyland

Here are two images that show wonderful 1970s fashion on display at Disneyland. The first show the kids of a suburban family posing in front of the Global Van Lines Truck. The little girl to the right has a cute hippo applique on her shorts. And the boy in the cab is definitely checking out the trio.

The next photo is an urban group in line at the Matterhorn. The girl in the middle is wearing a souvenir hat with colorful applique letters spelling out California. The group definitely shows the fashion of the urban teens of the 1970s.

  1. Those are awesome pictures! I love the kid lurking in the first picture (and the expression on the face of the middle girl.

The second photo is great too, in this case the people are the most interesting thing. Those are some groovy threads! Part of what I love about old photos is the way they show how the world has changed.

Is it just me, or does that first photo not look like it could very easily become a Norman Rockwell painting?

  4. I think my parents still have a plastic bag like the girl in the middle is holding. they take on trips to the beach to hold towels and lotion.

  5. I remember the bag too; they used the same design at both parks.

  6. I missed that old plastic Disneyland bag. I'd sure wish they would bring those back.

  7. I love these wonderful old photos, but I was wondering, did they allow minorities in the parks back in the 1950's and 1960's? I haven't seen any pictures of minorities in those photos from that time.
