Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship Signage 1966
Continuing the posts of the signage found throughout the park is this series taken of the signs seen around the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship and Skull Rock. These signs do show up in images of the ship, but not usually this close and direct.
It's amazing the level of detail they put into the ship. And when they were done with it, they just smashed it up. I've seen pictures of several D-land atractions that were just sledge hammered to make room for the new. I wonder why they don't try to move it somewhere else? Can you imagine if the old ship was saved and refurbished at a park somewhere in Orange County? I wonder if they at least kept the mermaid on the bow...
More amazing pictures of signage...wow!
