Seven Dwarves, Snow White and Gus and Jaq in Tomorrowland

A group of characters at the front of Tomorrowland in October 1970. The characters are all seven dwarves, Snow White and Gus-gus and Jaq from Cinderella. The first snapshot features the characters marching in a line.

The second image is of the group of characters interacting with guests and each other. The guests in the background seem a little perplexed that the mice from Cinderella are playing with Snow White.

  1. I find it interesting that there are a lot of photos of the costumed "fairytale" characters hanging out in Tomorrowland, from the Tomorrowland entrance to the Tomorrowland Terrace and Space Stage. Wonder why that was? I'd think Fantasyland more appropriate. Of course the Fantasyland Theater 2.0 corrected that. Either way, these are classic images. Thanks, Patrick!

For one thing, the Tomorrowland entrance could handle a large concentration of character 'groups', like the 7 Dwarfs, more easily than the cramped locations in Fantasyland. This appears to be early morning when management would also want to disperse crowds evenly among the lands. Being visible from the Plaza helped to achieve that objective.

  3. @K Martinez & Anonymous - Along with the Tomorrowland entrance being wide open The characters seem to be "marching" back toward the side restrooms near the Plaza Inn. The Character "head shop" was (1986 - 1994) located behind what is now Space Mountain. So many times they would make their way from Fantasyland along Matterhorn Way toward this Cast Member backstage entrance. Most of the Characters would make their way On Stage through either side of the Plaza Inn.

What I also enjoy about this photo (besides what you all have written) is Walt's dedication plaque is visible in the planter to the right.

  4. That's some great extra info about the characters I didn't know about. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, KS and Matthew!
