Today I am starting a series on Space Mountain under construction. The scans are from a set of wonky color negatives so some of the color may be a little off. The pictures were taken by a cast member during the construction of Space Mountain in 1976 and 1977. First up is a view of the construction site with what looks like one of the administrations building under construction in the background. There are lots of dirt and supplies ready to be used.
A wet and rainy view of the roof of the ride with the walls open. Cast members are walking by into work with their umbrellas.
Great find! I can't wait to see the full series.
ReplyDeleteThese are very cool. It brings back memories of going to the Park while Space Mountain was under construction and the anticipation that went with it. I always liked the primer red at the top the structure when it was under construction.
ReplyDeleteLike Progressland, I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. Thanks, Matterhorn.
Love construction shots, and Space Mountain too!
