The next couple of days I am featuring a set of Polaroid photographs taken showing the alley behind the 500 block of Main Street. It appears at some point in the 1970s there was a plan to build some structure behind the Tour Guide Gardens and City Hall.
In this photograph there are some pencil marks showing a proposed structure.
A view of the gate to Onstage.
I LOVE behind the scenes photos. What an illusion Disneyland is! I enthusiastically look forward to the rest.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that is Disneyland!! Looks like Cannery Row or something. Very cool to see the backstage area.
ReplyDeleteI know these are poor quality but they are still fascinating. Looking to forward to more!
ReplyDeleteHey Major, perhaps behind Cannery Row there is a Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteMan what a dump!!
ReplyDeletePatrick: these views are not from behind City Hall and Tour Guide Gardens, but rather behind East Side Center Street. To the left you can see the East facing windows of the "Hotel Marceline" as well as the mansard roof edges to the Market House. Those thriple set of bay-doors later became the same floor line to the dressing rooms of todays Disney Clothier's.
I was trying to place them and keyed off the flag on the top of the building as being from the Main Street station. Thanks Mike for placing them.
