Next up a night shot of the Avis Car Rental car ride. I believe this is still in existence at the Centreville park in Toronto Canada.
Next up is an action shot from the African Pavilion. I like the large dolls.
The best image from the batch is important to Disney fans, an interior shot of the Carousel of Progress final act. I like that there is a cat sitting on the couch. You can also see that they reworked Father a bit before premiering at Disneyland.
That Carousel of Progress pic is great! I never noticed the cat before, wonder if it moved at all or if it was just a static figure. "Father" looks kind of creepy!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile I am going to have a picture of the Schaeffer Center on my blog in three days.
Wow, that pic of the inside of the Carousel is fantastic. Great details. I can see why they gave father a mustache, it probably helped transition him from era to era - or maybe he shaved in the last scene? :-)
ReplyDeleteDig the plastic on the lampshade. I knew people that did that! Also just a little tiny Christmas tree where the DL version a beautiful full size one.
Just noticed the different color lights in the ceiling. When I was a kid I loved the part where the lighting changed with the mood of the music.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot of the Carousel interior! Some big differences there when compared to the Disneyland portrayal.
ReplyDeleteThe antique car looks just like the ones that Bud Hurlbut did for Knott's (now at Castle Park in Riverside). Wonder if he did the attraction for Avis?
ReplyDeleteI want to live in that last Carousel of Progress scene, but the DL version with Progress City/EPCOT outside the window!
ReplyDeleteThe photo identified as the Africa Pavilion, is actually in front of the Caribbean Pavilion. The two tall costumed ladies walked around the area on stilts to attract people to come inside.
