Two From 1962

Two color snapshots from 1962. First up is a view of the Indian Village dancers for Major Pepperidge as we all know how much he loves the Indian dancers.

Next up is a fantastic shot of the entry plaza with a grouping of attraction posters.

Those with a sharp eye and a love of vintage attraction posters will notice this very rare Stouffer's in Disneyland poster, the first Enchanted Tiki Room and Tahitian Terrace poster.

  2. Stouffer's was the original sponsor for the Tahitian Terriace, that's how it got on the poster, right?

I wonder how long that lasted? I wonder is Walt personally started to court United Air Lines as a sponsor for the Tiki Room alone (much better product/image matching)... and I wonder how much Walt's mutual antipathy for Mr. Stouffer helped get his frozen foods as far as possible from Walt's baby.

  3. Ha, the first thing I noticed is that Stouffer's poster! I'm not sure I've ever seen a photo in which one of those posters was actually in the park. Awesome!

  5. I've never seen this poster posted in the park, either. Wish I had one...it's a big favorite.

  6. *Is dancing with Native American friends*

I've never seen that poster anywhere in fact

    *Is still dancing*

in or outside the park! TSI, Sub, Tahitian Terrace, Golden Horseshoe, Jungle River", America the Beautiful - brilliant design, all, and think, only one of the lot of those, Jungle Cruise, is still there and all it ever was.
