This particular visitor enjoyed and was entranced with the lagoon for the Submarine Voyage. I believe he (since the majority of the photos from today and Tuesday are of the live mermaids) was trying to get a good picture of the mermaids. First up are two images of the mermaids sunning on the rocks.

A shot of the water with several fish swimming.

A nice sweeping view of the Monorail and the Peoplemover track over the lagoon.

I know I will catch grief for this; however:
ReplyDeleteI really wish there was a cure for chlorine poisoning and this summer job opportunity for young women was still available.
OK, I am ducking now and forgive my brash chauvinistic statement. Maybe they could have Adonis looking young men as attendants. Wow, job growth.
Oh, almost forgot.....Grays!
I think a lot of people would love to see the mermaids back in the lagoon. At least 50% of the population!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I'm hearing about chlorine poisoning... was this given as a reason why the mermaids were withdrawn? I was in the pool building industry for years and I've never heard of the condition.

ReplyDeleteNo, I made up that term. Sorry, didn't me to alarm you. There was an issue with the girls hair turning green and/or bleaching out and also, some reported skin irritation as well. Just became more of an concern than Walt or the park wanted to deal with I believe. Others may know more than I do about any real health issues that the mermaids had.
