Scenic Views 1971
Got the posting issues fixed (I hope.) Here are some scenic snapshots from 1971. First up a panorama shot of the hub.
A slightly different view of the hub with the castle in the background.
Last image for today a lovely shot of the Matterhorn.
Yup it's here no prob. Ma-ma-ma-matterhorn! That line winding around the Matterhorn is one of very few places I actually didn't mind waiting around. :)
Ya know, I never gave much thought to flowers until I became a Disneyland Fan.... Yes these pics are a bit Jaundice, but man those flowers in the first photo look magical don't they?
Hey peeps, here they are color / gamma & angle corrected at 1440x size. Look no Jaundice. Just the 1971 colors. :)

View full size and be like the two seniors in the back (first blue umbrella on our left) eating popcorn and watching the triumph of casual fashion parading by. ;)
@Connie, that was a souvenir stand, now moved. I'm not completely oriented to the photo viewpoint, but there used to be a stand at the edge of the Matterhorn "avenue" near where the House of Tomorrow used to be. I think this area has been reworked again, but I haven't seen it since Ariel moved out.
@Chiana, wow, nice work. I look forward to an old age spent as those folks are doing. thanks for mentioning them. I'm digging the dashiki or poncho on the person in the exact center of that pic.
Thank you for the pictures, these planters were a favored spot. They show out dramatically in aerial photos too.

ReplyDeleteI spy a yellow and aqua boblsed to the right of the waterfall.
ReplyDeleteI miss those planters at the entrance of Tomorrowland...and those yellow and purple flowers too!
This must have been the day the Jaundice Association visited the Park.

Ooooh, there are swell! Now, WHAT is that building/kiosk/thing next to the Matterhorn slightly hidden by the giant bushes?
