My Ride Operator is Snow White

The end of the slides from the 1962 trip feature a rare event. First up are two nice group photographs in front of the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Quite a nice looking family.

The best images are of the Snow White Adventure load area. I do not think that this would be allowed today. I can only think of how much fun and happiness the little girl must be seeing Snow White personally running the ride.

This one is a little blurry, but still you can see some of the details of the load mural.

  1. Nice! In the first photo, I noticed the "shade awnings" on the left. I bet those didn't last long.

Snow White manning the attraction? What were they thinking? LOL

  3. I love the first Snow White picture. I think that has to be one of the best pictures I have seen of the loading area. And to top it off, with "Snow White" sending you inside too!

I bet if that were today, a majority of Guests would want to get a picture of themselves with "Snow White" before being dispatched in the ride.

So it appears that hostesses for "Snow White's Adventures" wore a snow white costume. And for "Alice in Wonderland", it seemed like the hostess wore an outfit similar to Alice. I wonder what hostesses wore for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Peter Pan Flight

  4. Terrific photos. Look how short that fence is around the Matterhorn! I wonder how many people climbed over it before they built a taller one? And no lap bars on Snow White! How many people fell or jumped out of their cars before that was corrected?

  5. I agree with MintCrocodile...this has to be one of the best pictures of the Snow White loading area on the net. Great look at the long-gone mural artwork, the "rock work" painting on the side of the control panel, and of course Snow White herself at the controls. They would never have a princess cast member running the controls today for it would break the illusion of " fairytale royalty". Super find! Well done.
