1955 Disneyland in Soft Focus- The Train

A nice collection of black and white photographs all in a soft nostalgic focus. Based upon the look of the park, I believe these were taken in 1955. First up is a shot of the train running along the Rivers of America. Notice the large electrical poles and transformers complex in front of the train.

A view of the E.P. Ripley with the mail and baggage combine car attached to the tender. In the lower left hand corner is the original news stand with several local newspapers available. I would assume the Disneyland News was also sold here.

A closer view of the Ripley on the trestle. I wonder what all the suits are looking at?

A closer view of the news stand. The stand is made out of saw horses.

  4. Is that a round trash can in the tunnel next to the displays?

  6. I'm also just noticing that the attraction posters aren't in the berm tunnel. I don't think I've ever seen that before (excepting perhaps construction photos).

  8. Gotta love that "lighting" on the tunnel - 25ft of black wire, a couple hooks and two 100 watt light bulbs, priceless! THESE ARE GREAT - THANKS!
