World's Fair Wednesday- Miscellany

Starting off with one of the many fountains found at the New York Fairgrounds, we once again visit the 1965 New York World's Fair.

Next up is a blurry image of one of the statues in a pavilion, I believe it may be in the Vatican.

Next up is the Hall of Science with it's unique unfolded shape.

Final image is of the Mormon Church Pavilion.

  1. My guess is that the statue is of David. He was a shepard, and it looks like he's getting his rock ready for Goliath.

  3. I am amazed at how many photos I have found of the Mormon pavilion... did lots of Mormons go to the fair, and I just happened to acquire their slides?

  4. Interesting fact: when the Fair was over, the huge concrete slabs that were used in the pavilion were moved to Plainview, NY, and were rebuilt into a church for the local Mormon congregation there. Since almost 6 million people toured the Mormon pavilion, it's no wonder there's lots of slides!

  5. The Hall of Science still stands in all it's glory I was in there this summer during Maker Fair. As cool as it looks from the outside it is just as cool if not cooler on the inside.
