World's Fair Wednesday- Korea Pavilion Interiors

An unusual set of interior images from the Republic of Korea Pavilion. Lots of brass items on display and for sale. Many visitors had their first experience with Kimchee at this pavilion.

  1. My grandma would have bought an armload of souvenirs in that gift shop!

  2. In the first pic, dig the face mask of senior White House advisor David Axelrod.

  3. @ HBG2... David Axelrod? I thought it was John Bolton!

    Talk about an inkspot test....

BTW, I am pleased to see they sold junk souvenirs in the 60s too... There's nothing here that jumps out and says "I'm Korean".

  4. Bolton? Bah! It's Axelrod, says I.
Only one way to settle this: a vote!

  5. I assume this was at the 1964-'65 New York World's Fair?

At this year's world's fair in Shanghai (Expo 2010), there were TWO Korea Pavilions for the first time: South Korea AND North Korea.
