Vintage Lakeside #2
More vintage images from Lakeside Amusement park. First up is a clown (Clown Alert!) meeting the young visitor. The tower in the background is very nice.
Another image of the train Cactus Rose.
A fun kiddie ride with speedboats.
A nice kiddie airplane ride. I love the pylon for the ride with the military airplane markings.
The "Cactus Rose" train was actually at Elitch Gardens, not Lakeside. It was built by Bill Daney of Pueblo, a well-known miniature train builder, and still exists in Flora, IL. Lakeside has always ran (still does) two larger Cagney steam locomotives which have been there about a century now and a streamlined diesel set built a mining equipment company.
The kid is wisely keeping a respectable distance between himself and the clown!
