A Visit to Fantasyland- Part One

More from the same photographer who visited Adventureland. First up is a classic post card shot of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Classic 1950s look at the castle with the Ice Cream Vendor at the Hub.

Next up is a series of three images taken from the Skyway. The middle one is quite nice from Snow Mountain which looks like big pile of dirt.

  1. Third picture down, second of the aerials; what an interesting shot!

  2. I think that dirt area is in the very early stages for construction for the "Alice in Wonderland" attraction.

  3. I think you're right, Major. That opened later and is two story, the end of the castle we can see here is only one story, those umbrellas must be on or in the region that is now the outdoor track and queue.

Weird to not see the Matterhorn.

    Love that castle.
Anybody know where I can listen to sounds of Disneyland...you know...the ride sounds, people talking, whistle blowing, music playing...any of it.

Those skyway pics are the best. I especially like the one that shows the construction driveway and the way the ride building (Mr. Toad?) was exposed with only a small fence between the guests and the wall.

Debbie, you need to spend about $92 and get the Musical History of Disneyland CD set. You won't be sorry. It's really fantastic.

Sometimes I just turn on the Visions Fantastic Radio - it's not exactly what I'm looking for but there's a LOT of good listening there. Right now it's the Undersea Gardens music from EPCOT and I've requested Adventure Through Inner Space next. I love the narrator's voice - "the universe of the molecule"
