May 57 Visit to Disneyland Part 9

Saving the most interesting for the last day of the May 1957 visit is this set showing Tomorrowland. First up is the Avenue of Flags at the entrance to Tomorrowland with a panorama of the land in the background leading to the TWA Rocket to the Moon.

A nice view of the bubble and lights on the wall of one of the Tomorrowland show buildings.

A view of the eating and waiting area besides the Rocket to the Moon attraction. I am still enamored of the lights in Tomorrowland especially with the Jungle Cruise attraction poster. Off on the left side is the Wen-Mac Flight Circle.

Another view of the Rocket to the Moon attraction with the rare sight of the Tomorrowland ticket booth. In the background is the Flight Circle, with the large Wen Mac flag fluttering in the wind. I wonder if Cox Pilot was working this day?

A visually stunning shot of the American Motors Circarama theater and the great directional signs on the right hand side. The directional signs remind me of the signs seen in Alice in Wonderland.

Last image is of the building housing the Crane Bathroom of Tomorrow exhibit.

A close up and lightened image of the interior. In the far right you can see a desk where a representative from Crane would speak to guests about the Bathroom of Tomorrow (as well as give out the rare brochure.)

  4. Truly marvelous photos. I don't know which one I like best! I know I was there but of course, have no recollection of that Tomorrowland, LOL! I wish my dad was still around; he would love looking at these.

  5. Patrick: I never worked for Wen-Mac. I was hired after Cox took over the Circle. Nice thought though, & great pics. They all have the true feeling of Disneyland then. Especially the color of the sky and the feel of the light.
