Two views of Disneyland in late 1955 from two Realist 3-D slides. First up is the CK Holliday outfitted as the freight train stopped at the Frontierland Train Station. The EP Ripley pulling the passenger train is passing the stopped train.
A rare view of the mildly landscaped Canal Boats of the World passing another stopped train, this time the Casey Junior Railroad. I wonder what the cast members are discussing?
That's interesting, did the little train always stop on the hill? ; could my memory be confused here?

ReplyDeletePatrick...
ReplyDeleteKindly, POST THAT DAMN SHOT OF THE CK HOLIDAY IN STEREO AND STOP TEASING THE WORLD!!! ;)
What a great shot that is for 3-D! That photographer knew what he was doing.
I'm always amazed at the number of poorly composed 3-D shots that were taken at the park. You wonder why someone would go through the trouble and expense of 3-D photography only to shoot a static long shot with no dimensional elements.
This slide surely is in the minority....
These really are great. Would love to see them in stereo...
ReplyDeleteHave you tried that in the past?
That really IS an exceptional train photo, 3-D or not.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, thanks.

If I were to take a guess I'd say Casey Jr was broken down in that shot. The side hatch of the calliope car is open to gain access to its engine.
