A view of the street from the Plaza Inn. This is where the Corn Dog truck is now parked.
A close up in black and white of the window. Some of the merchandise that can be seen include Snow White and Dopey Salt and Pepper shaker, Alice in Wonderland and White Rabbit figure, and the Milk Glass mugs.
Wow! You must have some great connections! I love the America on Parade plates in that last photo.
ReplyDeleteA corn dog truck on Main Street, really? I guess they've just given up on any pretense of authenticity. They should replace the old Main Street vehicles with stretch limos.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if those were America On Parade plates I was seeing!
ReplyDeleteThey've gotten rid of the Carnation truck and the Bekins/Global Van Lines truck, so yeah, why not a corn dog truck...and stretch limos!
I love that last photo. It's kind of spooky!
ReplyDeleteThese are great, very cool the China Closet is still there... I'm not sure if that big tree is still there, that needs a before and after shot.
ReplyDeleteThe Corndog wagon does not appear to even run or have an engine, maybe at one time it did - I guess the tow it when it need to be moved. Oh, those are greasy eats there.
Keep these coming if you have more - thanks!
Pat, the last time I was there, the corndog truck was removed as well. That was back in April, and it was gone for around 3 months prior. The last I knew of, the Corndogs were relocated near the Golden Horseshoe Revue, and I think its called the Side Stage Cafe which faces the Rivers of America.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the Corn Dog wagon was removed for servicing or if it were a permanent removal, but it was actually, a nice functional piece and oddly enough, fit well into its surroundings at the end of the Main Street Hub. The Corndogs were honestly the best I've ever had. I know it's not saying much, really, but they were thick hotdogs, with a semi thick coating of crisp, yet moist cornbread like shell.
Hey Tom- the truck was removed for rehab (sounds like the corn dog truck was selling more than corn dogs!) From what I have heard it is back in its location selling the corn dogs.
ReplyDeleteThat is very good news! When I get around to renewing my AP, that will definately be back on my "todo" list! Thanks for sharing all that you do!
