One of many things I really keep an eye out for is the various Fun Foto's that were taken at Disneyland. This is a recent purchase and is a rather unusual one. First off I have not seen any that have a character in them. Second, I believe this location was in the Opera House where the Mickey Mouse Club Headquarters was located in 1963 and 1964. Most of the Fun Fotos were taken at the Kodak shop on Main Street or the location in Tomorrowland by the Art Corner. Here is the photo in the mailer.
Here is a close up of the souvenir the boy is holding. This is the Mickey Mouse Club card that was given to the lucky kids.
There's an innocence and sense of fun in these photos that is lacking from the digital ones that are taken and sold at the park today. Great find!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool. I have a Fun Foto of my parents from the 70s and they are wearing turn of the century clothes. It was taken on Main Street of course. If I can find it, I'll scan and send to you.
ReplyDeleteNeat! If you happen to have one of those Mickey Mouse Club cards in your collection, I'd love to see it!
ReplyDeleteMajor- I tried to find the one I have in my collection this morning, but did not. I will have to keep looking in the archives!
