Yo Ho Ho A Pirates Life For Me
Three images related to Pirates at Disneyland. First up is the jail scene in Pirates of the Carribbean. I can still hear them calling the dock and whistling.
Nexgt up is one of the Pirates in the shout out finale. I would beware of the barrels marked Explosivo.
The last shot is an overhead view of the Pirate hideout, Skull Rock. Enjoy Maties!
By the way, that really is a nice look-down shot of Skull Rock. You get a very nice sense of how the waterfalls all fit together, highlighted by the drooling scull.
Love Skull Rock and the pirate ship. Have any shots of the themed dining area behind? I loved that spot as a kid, secluded and secret, with tunafish sandwiches...what could be cooler?
I never saw Peter Pan till I had children and got it on VHS...
As a local, frequent visitor to Disneyland, I remember when pirate #3 was missing. If my memory serves me right, it was sometime between 1974-1976. I wasn't working there yet, but an employee told me that the figure was out for, what else, maintenance.
Either Pirate No. 3 has made his escape, or he's practicing for a gig at the Haunted Mansion.
ReplyDeleteOops- lovely spelling error. They are calling the Dog, not the dock!

ReplyDeleteAh, I remember those old textured photo prints!
ReplyDeleteIt's always strange when you go through "Pirates" and see that something is missing, like that third pirate...
