Now to Tomorrowland. First up is Submarine Voyage, Monorail and Peoplemover. I love how the yellow of the Monorail matches the yellow of the Peoplemover.
A long view from the Skyway with the twisty and turny track of the Peoplemover and Monorail. In the background are the spires of the joyful It's A Small World.
Last image for today shows the crowded scene at the Tomorrowland Autopia, hat shop and Skyway.
All of these are just wonderful. Gray subs are better! Special thanks for the Tomorrowland end of the skyway ride. Lots of good memories within that bottom picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
That last one is the best! Colorful, and an unusual angle. We see the old buckets so regularly on the blogs that it is nice to see the rectangular versions!
ReplyDeleteThose twisty tracks are so fluid, I never realized there is so much motion even without the vehicles!
ReplyDeleteOld Tomorrowland was so cool. I love that last pic. I forgot the people mover went OVER the skyway...how cool is that?
ReplyDeletethe essence of the best modern architecture was three-dimensional, tomorrowland combines that with the early modern fascination with transportation. Its never been matched since...
I sure miss the people mover and the Skyway. I was just at the park last Sunday and it is sad to see the track for the People Mover and the end stations for the Skyway just sitting there without a purpose. Both rides were great for taking a break from the thrill rides. And in the case of the Skyway, a nice shortcut across the park when you were trying to get that last ride of either Space Mountain or Big Thunder at the end of the night.
ReplyDeleteA day without Coca-Cola is like a day without Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteThe Skyway was also great for crossing the parade route during the parades.
The pebbled pathways set in red concrete always felt so unique to Disneyland (first photo) - off hand, does anyone know if there's any of that left in the park?
ReplyDeleteMy fave is the last pic. This would make a nice postcard for sure!
