Disneyland has always been a spot that attracts photographers. During the 1950s and 1960s many camera clubs popped up as the middle class had more free time and disposable income. A majority of the shutterbugs would attend classes which would have assignments and many of the neophyte photographers in Orange County and surrounding areas would head to Disneyland to fulfill their homework. I have been lucky to find several sets of these type of images, including these two images from a fairly recent acquisition. If the popcorn vendor had saved 100 of those boxes, he would have a nice little stipend.
This is for the fountain watchers, this one is in Adventureland.
I'm not sure I've ever noticed one of those Adventureland water fountains before!
ReplyDeleteI like the look and feel of these B & W "photo class" pictures, well thought out, always a nice depth of field. Most of the time the class subjects are a snooze fest (parks, schools, etc.) Oh but these are SUPER!!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf the restrooms at Disneyland can have their own website, perhaps the fountains too? Truly, an Idea Whose Time Has Come...
ReplyDeleteKatella Gate - the restrooms have their own site?
ReplyDeleteI think the lights at Disneyland should have their own if the don't already.
AmyR: Yes, it used to be an independent website that located, ranked, and rated the Happiest Potties on Earth... I see now its been taken over by Mice Age. Here's the current cover page:
