Starting off with a nice colorful brochure from 1963 featuring every one's favorite bird show! This is the first Enchanted Tiki Room brochure and is illustrated with some nice line drawings. I like that it is treated like a movie with World Premiere. Does this mean that the show will eventually be on the road and I can see it in Denver? I like the halftone Walt Disney head on the back page of the brochure. Make sure you read the descriptions.
This is like the golden ticket to the Wonka candy factory, a round trip ticket on the Skyway. If you travelled from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland and then back to Fantasyland, you would hand this large ticket to the cast member and be allowed to stay on. With the union logo, I believe the ticket is from the late 1950s.
"a theatrical concept of WED" nice touch. This is by far the coolest Tiki Room brochure ever! Was this a gate flyer?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT ROUND TRIP SKYWAY TICKET!!!! I wonder how many of these made if off the attracion after just going "one way" What size is it?
THANKS!
ps. can I steal your skyway ticket scan for my under construction website?
Yeah, I guess Walt's perfecting the Mme. Leota gag with the disembodied head. Even when I was a kid, that floating head setup in advertising was creepy.
ReplyDeleteBut you know it would be a neat way to end the show: Thunder, lighting, Angry tikis, and Walt's head rising in "wizard of Oz" glory from the fountain... sounds hip and edgy to me anyway.
Excellent brochure. Love that WED Logo.
ReplyDeleteI love the tiki on the cover, in fact all of the artwork is great! I've always liked that lettring too. This darn flyer is hard to find, especially in nice condition; I recently sold one that had some writing on it, only to discover that I didn't have one in better condition (I could have sworn I did...)!
ReplyDeleteahhh the infamous floating Walt's head!
ReplyDeleteHey VDT- Yes you can use the graphic. I will e-mail you the size and other details...don't want to see a whole bunch of "new ones" appearing on E-Bay
