An early publicity still featuring the Bruce Bushman ride layout for Peter Pan in Fantasyland. Although at first glance the drawing appears to be simple, there are many details to be found. The caption on the drawing is Peter Pan Fly Thru 60X100 Bldg.
Oh wow! This is so cool to see. I was fortunate enough once to get stuck on the Peter Pan ride. They brought up the lights - it was the most fun I've ever had while stuck on a theme park ride. :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWOW - ultra cool! Simple yet elegant - thanks! AmyR, you are so lucky, I'd love to see this attraction in the light!
ReplyDeleteI love that layout, I believe that is the same one that you see in various magazines from 1955 (McCalls?), only in a hand-colored version.
ReplyDeleteSO Awesome, Great post!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is great!
ReplyDeleteMAGNIFICENT!! THIS FULFILLS ONE OF MY -- UH, FANTASIES. I saw the Pan ride when it was nothing but a track around the top of a Disney sound stage with a motor that drove a minimal seat around the track.
ReplyDeleteI yearn to see inside sketches of other dark rides, past and present. Do you have a sketch of the Toad ride, for example?
That's awesome. I love to see ride layout pictures.
