Today I present two nice behind the scenes photos for the train fanatics. The first is engine number 1 the C.K. Holliday in the round house getting ready to steam up and head out on to the tracks. I like the flags on the cowcatcher.
The second shot is of engine number 3 the Fred Gurley sitting in its bay in the roundhouse.
The final photograph for today is the E.P. Ripley, engine number 2 out on the tracks in front of Main Street Station.
Does anybody know if the first two pictures are taken inside the original roundhouse or the present facility built to the east of the It's a Small World show building?
ReplyDeleteDirect from a train fanatic... "these pictures are incredible". Great detail shots. Thanks Matterhorn.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine that these are inside the present facility, since these are from after Santa Fe stopped sponsoring the trains. Great pics!
ReplyDeletewow, never seen that in either the original or the new roundhouse. wow! did i say wow!!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad would LOVE these...he's all about the trains, thanks for posting the pics!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are dated 1978 so it is the current roundhouse with the Monorail roundhouse located on the second floor.
