Two more photographs from the train photographer. The first is of the Motorboat Cruise taken on the train. An unusual view of this long shuttered and fondly remembered ride. Slide is marked Disneyland (boat rides.)
The next image is taken from the exit of the Fantasyland Autopia showing the ride signage for the Motorboat Cruise. Slide is simply marked Disneyland.
Matterhorn - Is it possible the first photo is from the Viewliner? I don't think the DLRR tracks got that close to the Motor Boat Cruise waterway, and you can tell it predates the Monorail because, well, there's no Monorail!
ReplyDeleteThe thought that it was the Viewliner track and taken from the Viewliner did cross my mind.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, that would be pretty cool if this could be confirmed as taken from the Viewliner!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I always like the old photos with the women and their poofy skirts.
there is something special in the simplicity of the early park. that top shot is reassuring of the -how to make it work attitude that walt had in those times of cash-flow challenges.
ReplyDeletethufer said what I was thinking. I also like how they used the wood framing on the chain link fence, oh, I like the poofy skirts too!
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you, I'm glad I'm not the guy who had to cut out all those semi-circles out of the verge boards.
