A nice view of the newly opened Walt Disney Studio in Burbank California. This image appears to have been taken at the little hill across from the Studio where the striking animators had their picnic set up. I believe this is now part of Griffith Park and is separated from the studio by the freeway. The streamline modern look of the studio can be seen from this vantage point. And every studio needs a large water tower.
WOW, has that area changed (I drive right thru there every day) What a neat historic photo, Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at the studio, I would hear stories from older employees about the way it was "before" (i.e. before Eisner had built so many new buildings). They talked about picnics in the grassy fields, ping pong tournaments, and wandering through the old Zorro street and the Suburban Street. Arg! I do wish I could have seen it then. As it was, they had a tiny "city street" set that was constantly being redressed. They filmed a lot in the parking garage too ("Alias" was filming there a lot, it seemed).
ReplyDeleteNice shot! I drove by the Studio in March on my way to Bob Hop International. Didn't even have time to stop (spent too much time trying to find 2719 Hyperion!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...
