The first image on the last pages is captioned Lou Miller Wardrobe. The sign in the window reads Madame Lulu Miller and Associates. Exclusive Tailors for Men and Women since 1955.
The next three images are captioned Employees Harbor Gate Entrance.
I am sure some of you have gone throught that gate many, many times in your life. The final image shows one of the photographs in the album with the handwritten caption by Esther.
For those keeping track, there are 105 different images in the photo album plus a couple of more postcards. All in all a pretty amazing document of what it was like to work on Main Street in the late 1950's. I hope you all enjoyed it.
Wow! This really is amazing. The photos of Harbor Gate are a nice end to it. Hopefully she cajoled some friends into doing the same for Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland!
ReplyDeletePatrick - Fantastic collection. Thanks for sharing it with everyone. I am sure Lulu was quite a gal.

ReplyDeleteMatterhorn, these really are AMAZING, what a collection. Thank goodness for Esther and her love of Disneyland and all of the people she knew and worked with! I'm sorry it's over too...
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of those above. Quite a collection. And what an ending...via the employee entrance.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was one of those who passed through the old "time shack". Still have my last time card (quit on a Saturday and pulled the next week's card already in the slot on my way out.)
I went past the shack for 6 years, and I can still hear the train going overhead while I passed under (and got a little wet from the steam). This has been a wonderful look back, and I remember many of those people in the photos and postcards.
ReplyDeleteI too say thanks for the great collection...and I too am sorry to see Esther go!
ReplyDeleteWow - shockingly amazing collection. Thanks again!
