The second image is captioned Pen and Coin Shop Tobacco Shop Howard.
The third photo is captioned Dee Fisher Wurlitzer. By the way, Dee's Wurlitzer organ album Echoes of Disneyland is now available on I-Tunes.
The next images are all closeups from various images already shown. I thought all of you would love to see some of the details. The first is a close up of the window for Town Square realty advertising Apple Valley and Disneyland maps.
The second is the sandwich advertising board for the Horse Drawn Trolleys.
The third is the Disneyland News souvenir stand. Hey Cox Pilot, is that you in the crash helmet and Disneyland overalls in the middle?
The fourth is close up of the print shop and Show Business. Nice selection of albums in the Show Business window.
The fifth is a close up of the Emporium Annex window. And the little girl crying reminds me of my wife when she doesn't get what she wants...
Unbelievable images. What a find. Thanks Matterhorn.
ReplyDeleteGreat images. I believe Howard use to run the coin shop, which was gone very quickly after this photo was taken.
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty amazing photos. They make me feel like I'm there.
ReplyDeleteAny close ups of the Tobacco Shop? Jack Schrecengost used to manage that along with the Bazaar in Adventureland from '55 to 60, when Walt kicked all the concessionaires out. He then went to Knott's and managed the concessionaires until the 70s...
ReplyDeleteThat's not me because I didn't start at the Circle until '59, but that does look like the outfits worn by the Model Club that operated the Flight Circle at the time. Wen-Mac was next, and then Cox. We worked for Cox and wore the standard blue pants and white shirt w/Disneyland patch above the left pocket (and blue tie of course..stuffed into the shirt to keep it out of the props.)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these! The Disneyland News stand is too cute. I love the design.
ReplyDeleteFun to see since Show Business did not sell records. But the shop was closed by then anyway.
