Hills Brothers Coffee House and Coffee Garden

Two great views of the Hills Brother Coffee House and the accompanying Patio. A lot of people's memories involve around either getting a hot chocolate here while their parents drank coffee early in the morning or late in the evening before hitting the road. I am glad to say that the building and the Garden still exist. Now if Disneyland would only make it back into a coffee house. I am sure Starbucks would pony up the cash to sponsor such a place. And then all the Starbucks addicted folks would be able to get their fix. They should be able to make their money off of all the Orange County teens who have annual passports!

  1. Where in Disneyland is this building located?

  2. Arrrrgh! Not the Coffee House again! Dvdpicasso - it was/is to the right of 'Disney Showcase" I believe. The reminants of the International Street preview are still back there, but hidden by one of those 50th anniversary mosaic pictures right now... I took a few pictures of it last week...

  4. Tanga- I thought of you when I posted this....thought you would appreciate it. There was some discussion recently on line that the kitchen and some of the equipment is still in existence and that is why the store is so strangely situated. I think it was on Mice Chat.

  6. Is the coffee garden located where (long ago) there used to be a fence advertising the upcoming "International Street" and "Edison Square"?

  7. Major Pepperidge- yes it is located where the International Street sign and preview was located. Check out Tangaroa's comments.
Anonymous- the reason for the two images is that I had two great photos of places that matched and where located together.

Interesting. I'll be working at the park the week of the 18th - 24th, so I'll go check it out! It would be great to see that return as a restaurant location again. I have fond memories of having breakfast there as a kid when it was the 'Egg House'...

It would be interesting to hear what you found regarding the kitchen. I worked in the kitchen (1969-1970) and have wonderful memories of the place and my co-workers. I treasure the pictures of them taken in the garden area after nightly closings. It was my springboard to the Jungle Cruise and many other attractions. Was sorry to see it go.

I'm new to these blogs, which I really enjoy, by the way.

The photos of so many of these places bring back great memories.

We often had breakfast here when visiting as a child. I vividly remember the smell of the coffee, even though I did not drink it. My dad loved this spot and what is now the River Belle Terrace for breakfast.

I agree this is a killer location for a Starbucks...right inside the gate, open first thing...terrific idea. No coffee on Main St till the Carnation place.
