Interior image of Professer Keller working his Lion and Tiger act at the Mickey Mouse Club Circus. Extremely rare interior image that I had to lighten up. In the background can be seen the circus wagons and the circus tent. The show was in the last half of 1955 and Keller's animals was held over for 1956 in the large circus tent. Keller appears on a scarce 1956 postcard and actually published a scarce book titled Here Keller, Train This detailing his Tiger and Lion taming days. Image is from a Kodachrome slide.
Greetings, I have this book in my store ... I was intrigued with it from the moment I saw it! Peace and Happy Holidays, Mom
ReplyDeleteGeorge Keller is actually my Great Great Grandfather. He died the year before my father was born so I never met him, but I have grown up hearing many stories about him. When I was in high school I did wrote a biograpy on him and had a blast learning about his career with his big cats.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you blogged about him!
I was very fortunate when I was a child, to meet this wonderful man, my father worked for Mr Keller. I am from Bloomsburg, Pa. I met him when he took his act to Knoebles Grove. He said something to me that I will never forget, Animals don't Lie, and Trust is everything. I have that rare Postcard in my footchest. I cherish.
