Jungle Cruise Denizens 1962

Two quick images of the Jungle Cruise Denizens taken in 1962. First one is a little blurry, the skipper must have gunned the boat right as the photographer snapped the photo.

Everyone's favorite animal, the Hippos.

Things From The Gate-1961 Disneyland Advertising Brochure

Printed in June of 1961 (according to the date code on the back), this blue brochure features a different set of interior photographs.

Autopia and Tea Cups 1962

Two rides spotlighted today. First up the great looking 1950's style Autopia cars. Mr. Gurr really had a nice touch when he designed the various Autopia cars.

Action image of the kids starting off on the ride.

Two different views of the Mad Tea Party ride. Check out all the various signs and structures in the background.

Monorails and Submarine Ethan Allen 1962

Just three years old, the Submarine Voyage and the Monorail was still quite a draw in 1862. First up a view of the Ethan Allen and the blue Monorail.

Another shot of the Ethan Allen from the Monorail this time.

World's Fair Wednesday- 1958 Brussels at Night

The Brussels Worlds Fair at night must have been a great site. Look at all the lights and decorations. Also to ride up to the Atomium at night must have been thrilling and judging by these slides, beautiful. The first image is marked "Towards the attractions from Atomium at nite"

Next slide "Toward U.N. from Atomium at nite"

Third slide is "Russ + U.S. Pavilion from Atom at nite"

On the ground, this slide was pictured- the slide is marked "On the bridge at nite"

Euclid Beach Park Cleveland Ohio

At first glance, I thought these were from Cedar Point as the box of slides just have written on the side Cleveland Ohio. However, a little internet search and I found an old Cleveland park that closed in 1969 with the name Euclid Beach in Cleveland Ohio. The park was an old amusement park having opened in 1895. The park definitely had a fun look to it. The Slides are dated 1965 which was towards the end of the park's existence as it closed in 1969. First up is a sky ride with great Art Deco style cabins.

Next up is three views of a nice airplane ride. I like how far out the vehicle swings.

All that remains of the park is the entrance arch.

1962 Trip Part 2

More pictures from the folder label photographer. Three are of her Mom and Dad coming into the dock (based upon the writing on the back, I believe the photographer was female.) The second group has a nice view of the peaceful Indian village.

1962 Trip Part 1

A trip to Disneyland in 1962 captured in color snapshots. First up is a nice image of Monstro. I wonder where are all the guests?

Next up is the Submarine Voyage with the swooping Monorail track overhead. The photographer used typed file labels to document the photographs. Make sure you note the Submarine.

The obligatory Sleeping Beauty Castle picture.

A nice image from the Skyway heading towards Matterhorn.

Souvenir Friday- Enchanted Forest Brochure Circa late 1950s

A nice brochure from one of the many story book lands and small parks located in the Catskills of New York. Enchanted Forest was one of the best parks and is still in business, although it is mainly known as a water park. But, the fairy tale part of the park including the giant Paul Bunyon are still there. The design and art on the front of the cover is fantastic, reminding me of Eyvind Earle's work for Sleeping Beauty.

Unknown County Fair

Summer is coming and that means time for county fairs. Most fairs feature rides in the fun zone. Now days many of the rides are interactive, virtual reality or just kids rides. In the 1950s and 1960s many of the rides were fantastic mechanical rides. First up is an image of a double Ferris wheel.

Next up is a nice traveling carrousel with some great horses.

The final two are of the Round Up. This is one ride I can not ride...going around in circles is not fun for me. I do love to watch the ride though.

Check out the painting on the fun house in the background.

Worlds Fair Wednesday- Country Pavilions Brussel's Fair 1958

Four views of various Country pavilions at the 1958 Brussels fair. First up is the United States Pavilion which featured the Walt Disney Production designed Circarama theater and film. The pavilion looks very festive with all the flags and the nice fountain.

Next up is an image of the gardens at the Iranian Pavilion.

A view of Japan with a traditional Japanese house in the front and a modern showcase in the background. I like the Stella Artoris advertising in the background.

The last pavilion is Italy with the focus on the restaurant and food. The advertising poster on the right side is very nice.

Posing in Frontierland

Three photographs from the same family that documented the fishing and scenic sites on the side of the Rivers of America. First up is an Indian Chief who is always posing.

A nice image on the Mark Twain. She is quite fashionable with her souvenir straw hat and nice pinstripe jumper.

This appears to be mom posing in the center of the Fort at the front of Frontierland. She is also a fashionable model with her printed circle skirt style dress and souvenir hat. There are also some very fashionable background crowd walking by.

A different family poses, with the kid being a little boy and sticking his tongue out. Mom and Dad are nicely dressed with Dad holding the ticket book in his pocket.

Things From the Gate- Circa Late 1957 Advertising Brochure

The cover has now turned blue and new interior images have been added. The Viewliner is a spectacular shot.
